Fairview Cemetery
This cemetery is located 0.75 mile to the east and 1.0 mile to the north of Talmage, Nebraska on State Highway 67, at the intersection of 48th & 'Q' Roads, on the west side of the road. The cemetery is very well maintained.
"Soon after the early settlers arrived in this part of the Nebraska territory, the immediate need of a cemetery arose. Two generous acres of land were purchased on March 23, 1864, from Deiderick I. Schomerus for one dollar and fifty cents.
The first meeting on record was held on November 3, 1868, to adopt Articles of Association. The new organization was named Fairview Cemetery Association. Family lots were measured 12 by 60 feet. Charge for a single burial was two dollars." (1)
